One of the oldest botanical gardens in the Caribbean, established 1862 on the banks of the Wag Water River. The 30-acre site contains over 1,500 plant species including many palms, ferns, and tropical ornamentals. The Wag Water River flows through the grounds and visitors can swim in calm sections below the garden. Free entry makes this one of Jamaica's most accessible nature sites.
