Established 1779, among the earliest botanical gardens established in the Caribbean by the British colonial government. The small but historically significant garden is located beside the famous Bath Fountain mineral springs. Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis), introduced to Jamaica by Captain Bligh via HMS Providence in 1793, was first cultivated in Jamaica at Bath. Trail 14 (Bath Fountain Mineral Spring Trail) departs from this garden.
